As a Punekar I rate sarcasm very high on the “linguistic necessities” list. A lot of people think sarcasm should be kept out of regular, healthy conversation. I believe such people lack the necessary mental jewelery to process sarcasm. I’ve been looking around for some biting words to put on a tee shirt which I plan on wearing regularly. The kinds that “jab aage wala padhe toh uski mast jale. After a lot of stumbling through the web, and random clicks running into hundreds of thousands I found a few courtesy xkcd.

Here’s your assignment: Ask yourself how many times you have yourself wanted to say any of these to someone.

A quick one before I go…

I leave for Pune tomorrow for a 10 day vacation of sorts. The blog will obviously be shoved way back into the line of priorities. So here’s something I have almost fallen in love with over the past year. Here’s ‘In my place’ by Coldplay. Have a great Holi/Good Friday/Eid, everyone.

The genius of irony

While people have PhD programs and other such scholarly pursuits in mind, I seem to find great pleasure in miniscule, microscopic, routine and sometimes household observations.

I was watching L.A. Confidential the other day and it suddenly struck me around the climax of the movie. I have a lot of friends who are movie buffs, but not one matches his choice of movie genre. Don’t get me wrong. My friends aren’t fake or showing off. It is in fact an observation the conclusion of which will label almost 95% movie viewers.

According to me, action movie lovers hardly ever live on the edge, the romance types don’t get goosebumps with the mention of their spouse’s name, humour junkies find it difficult to crack an original joke and horror fans in general are either afraid of the dark or of clowns. I for one am scared of clowns in the dark :D

Now before you charge at me with a brick in your hand, please observe 10 of your friends and wonder how a 24 year old softie could have come up with such an amazing theory. That should be enough to puzzle the reader. But what puzzles me is whether porno addicts have severely crippled sex drive ;)
