The Jesus Phone: Apple launches iPhone
Apple never ceases to churn out sleek and orgasm inducing products. And why shouldn’t it? The market after all is ripe with a booming economy all over the globe and people’s pockets jingly-er than ever. And to take advantage of this here’s the latest offering from Stevie J’s stable. The iPhone; dubbed the Jesus phone by many, is a wonderful touch screen cellphone that can do everything today’s smart phones are capable of…and much more.
It has an 8GB storage for Music, Pictures and Video that makes it a strong contender in the media oriented phone category. Add to this a crystal clear display that rivals even the Zune in size for pictures and video. It boasts of a 3.5 inch screen that supports 320×480 resolution….slurp
The patented MultiTouch technology used here is like no other. The phone employs a fully finger operated touch screen and keyboard. Yes there is a software keyboards which pops up whenever there’s a need. This according Jobs is a big plus since the keys don’t mar the looks and are fully re-programmable. It also has a proximity sensor which disables the touch panel when the phone is brought close to the user’s face while talking.
Communications wise it is pretty well equipped. It supports Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP (which means you can use stereo Bluetooth headphonesfor music), Wi-Fi, quad-band GSM with Edge and offers Push POP3 or IMAP. The addition to the regular fare is Google Maps which packs in that extra oomph to this phone.
It also runs most Mac apps since…hold your breath…it manages to run Mac OSX. Now isn’t that something. The favourite OS of eye-candy lovers all over the world, now on the cellphone (mmm…) It also means that the widgets would be far sexier and the overall GUI would be much more gorgeous than we’ve ever experienced. It even has an accelerometer that detects when you rotate the device from portrait to landscape and then automatically changes the contents of the display.
Then there’s the regular stuff like a 2 MP camera, iTunes as the music player (of course) blah, blah, blah.
All this with a tremendous battery back-up. It promises to give 16 hours in music mode and 4-5 hours for talk or video. And a mere 11.5 mm in thickness?? I can almost hear the gadget junkies moaning in pleasure!
All in all it’s a gadget busrting at it’s seams with features. Time to drop those brick-like Nokias and the emaciated Motorolas, huh guys?
Note : The demo at Apple’s website is a must-see for any gizmo freak. Here go ogle
